Specialized care for special needs cats
Welcome to Suncatcher Sanctuary, a haven where the warmth of love and the glow of compassion illuminate the lives of every feline resident. Established in 2022, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to the rescue and care of cats with special needs, seniors, and those in hospice care. Inspired by the radiant presence of our beloved pets, the name "Suncatcher Sanctuary" emerged. Just as a suncatcher captures sunlight and radiates it into the world, our furry companions absorb and reflect the love and joy they receive, bringing smiles, warmth, and happiness to all they encounter. Plus, the serendipitous inclusion of the word "cat" within "suncatcher" adds an extra layer of resonance to our mission.

Suncatcher Sanctuary is the only cat rescue and sanctuary in Phoenix that is dedicated to saving cats with special needs. We believe that every cat, regardless of their health, age, or unique needs deserve a chance to flourish. Our sanctuary serves as a haven where each feline resident is cherished, their lives enriched through compassionate care and nurturing surroundings. Beyond our sanctuary walls, we aim to raise positive awareness for cats with special needs and seniors, advocating for their unique needs and celebrating the joy they bring into our lives. Together, we can make a difference—one whisker, one purr, and one loving heart at a time.
DAILY LIVES
Where every cat shines in their own special way
At Suncatcher Sanctuary, every cat’s journey begins in our cozy intake room—a quiet space where they can rest, adjust, and start to feel at home. Once they’re ready, the doors open, and they join the rest of our free-roaming feline family. No cages here (except during mealtime to keep the food thieves in check)! Some cats love playing with friends or greeting visitors, while others prefer to snooze the day away. Whatever their preference, we respect it, and they receive exactly what they need. Since we started, we've continuously adapted our space to better suit them—just like they adapt and teach us every day.
