Ella came to us in July of 2024 after a heartfelt plea from our primary veterinarian—the same clinic that cares for all of our Suncatchers. She had been living at their hospital for seven months after being found as a stray, in heartbreaking condition. Her fur was so severely matted that maggots had taken hold, and yet, through all of that, her spirit remained unshaken.
The clinic staff did everything they could—nursed her back to health, gave her the love and care she needed, and hoped for a future where she could find a place to belong. But due to her age and her ongoing medical condition—chronic diarrhea—they worried she would be overlooked for adoption.
So, she joined us at Suncatcher Sanctuary, where we believe all lives, no matter the condition, deserve peace, comfort, and companionship.
Ella is truly an angel. She asks for very little and gives so much. Her favorite thing in the world is being brushed and gently petted, and her sweet, calm energy makes any space feel softer and safer. You’ll often find her curled up near Blanche or other mellow cats, radiating warmth with her beautiful green eyes and that adorable little mouth of hers.
