Miss Teapot arrived at Suncatcher Sanctuary in May 2024, with a face as red as her story was heavy. She had been surrendered to a shelter and was scheduled for euthanasia, but a kind-hearted staff member stepped in just in time. Thanks to Yuma Purr Project, she got her second chance—and after some sleuthing (and a few vet visits), it was discovered that her mysterious facial swelling was due to dermatitis, a condition not uncommon in cats of her breed.

We now gently wipe her face each day, and while flare-ups still come and go, she takes it all in stride—with a swish of her fluffy tail and a look of royal patience.

She's the embodiment of everything we hold dear here at Suncatcher: a soul who just needed a soft place to land, a beam of sunshine to nap in, and a human who doesn’t mind the occasional eye booger. She's calm, content, and spends her days lounging like a queen on holiday—waiting for her next meal, soaking up the sun, and quietly stealing our hearts.
