Pepe joined Suncatcher Sanctuary in September 2023 after being rescued as a stray by the Arizona Humane Society. While in their care, he had his right eye removed due to an ulcer and recovered from a stubborn URI before making his way to us. His remaining left eye is still clouded, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit!

From the moment he arrived, Pepe became one of the boys—quickly bonding with the male cats at the sanctuary. Moose, our leader of the mischiefs, took Pepe under his wing, and Pepe, like an eager little apprentice, copied everything Moose did (both the good and the… more questionable antics).

Pepe is a sweet and affectionate boy who loves being held and will happily climb onto you to make it happen. Since he was a kitten, he has always slept belly-up—a perfect little reminder of how safe and loved he feels here at the sanctuary.
